Running the Magazine-fed Rifle

Course Description:
Everybody bought one, some have even fired them, few know how to fight with them. This course will cover the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, and get you loading, shooting, reloading, clearing malfunctions, and hitting at 10-100 yards under pressure. Six hours can’t make you a gunfighter, but we will lay the foundation of principles that if practiced regularly will make you capable of defending yourself against worst case threats.

Course Requirements:
Bring the magazine-fed rifle you intend to use. Try it first. If it jams constantly, you will learn malfunction clearance a lot, but not much else. 200 rounds of the most reliable ammo you can afford in your caliber. Iron sights, or dot-scopes are the most useful, but if you have a hunting scope on it, that’s ok. Something to lay on. You’ll need eye protection, ear protection, at least two rifle magazines and holders. Bring a pistol, its holster and 25 rounds of pistol ammo. Water, snacks, clothing appropriate to the weather, and a camp chair. If you have a less than functional body part, knees etc, knee-pads are a good idea. Wear shoes with ankle support, and bring a few band aids.
